MORE TO YOUR WORLD

As a global business made up of over 30,000 teammates, we recognise that we have the collective ability to create lasting change that benefits society and our planet, well beyond the doors of our attractions and resorts.

WE CARE

As a business, we consistently contribute to the local communities in which we are based. We strive to make a positive impact, both through our employees and our two dedicated charities: Merlin's Magic Wand Children's Charity and SEA LIFE [GMcG] TRUST. At Merlin, we believe our superpower is being a force for good, and people are at the heart of everything we do.

MERLIN'S MAGIC WAND

Our children’s charity, Merlin’s Magic Wand (MMW), works to provide magical experiences for children who need them most. They provide the magic of Merlin through their three magical programmes.

MAGICAL DAYS OUT

Every year, we gift free tickets to families, charities and organisations to visit a Merlin Attraction of their choice. In 2023 we gifted over 100,000 of these free tickets.

MAGIC ON TOUR

When children are unable to visit our attractions, volunteers bring characters right to them to them through in-person and online experiences.

MAGIC SPACES

In places where children have to spend a lot of time, like sensory rooms, hospital waiting rooms and hospices, we turn entire spaces into Merlin-inspired environments.

We aspire towards a world where our seas are healthy, properly protected, and full of diverse life. As a charity, we work globally to protect the world’s amazing [GMcG] oceans and marine life.

EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES

Our Sanctuaries

The SEA LIFE [GMcG] TRUST operates marine animal sanctuaries. Our Cornish Seal Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue and expert care of seal pups in need of help. Once they’re ready, the seals are released back into the ocean. Our Beluga Whale Sanctuary provides a home for two beluga whales, Little White and Little Grey, as well as a puffin hospital, rescuing, caring for and releasing young ‘pufflings’ every year.

Our Wider Work

We support practical local projects across the world in order to protect marine wildlife and their habitats, alongside working on conservation campaigns, to effect long-lasting change on a global scale.

MORE MERLIN MAGIC

It's not just our attractions that make the magic of Merlin. Our Cancer Care Resource, Business Disability Forum, and climate change goals are where the real magic takes place.

CANCER CARE RESOURCE

A dedicated programme which will support our 30,000 Merlin teammates who are affected by cancer, whether they're personally affected or supporting a loved one. No matter what challenges they face, the Cancer Care Resource at Merlin has been designed to create a welcoming community and peer support network for our teammates around the world.

CARING FOR OUR PLANET

We believe that all the planet’s resources are precious. Every day, we address climate change by implementing emission-reducing change in pursuit of our 2030 goal:

  • Achieve carbon neutrality in Scope 1 and 2.
  • Remove single-use plastic packaging from all retail merchandise. Where removal is not possible, recycled plastic alternatives will be used.
  • Achieve 90% recycling & recovery rate across our Resort Theme Parks and owned LEGOLAND Parks.

BUSINESS DISABILITY FORUM

We're members of the Business Disability Forum, who we work closely with to make continual improvements to our accessibility. We want our teams to feel confident when welcoming our guests, whatever their individual needs may be. We're therefore delighted to sponsor the Welcoming Disabled Customers guide, which offers clear advice to businesses about how to best cater for guests with disabilities.
